Delete your account

How to permanently delete your Zicarium account and data, when it happens, what is deleted, and what is kept.

Zicarium is made by Datacea LLC. You can ask to delete your Zicarium account and all of its data at any time, from inside the app or from a web browser.

Because deleting an account cannot be undone, it happens 30 days after you ask. Until then your account keeps working and you can cancel. After that, the deletion is permanent and we cannot recover your account.

Delete from the app

This works the same in the Android app, the Windows app, and the web app.

  1. Open Zicarium and make sure you are signed in.
  2. Open Settings, then the Account tab.
  3. In the Danger zone, choose Delete account and data.
  4. Type DELETE MY DATA and choose Schedule deletion.

The app shows the date your account will be deleted, and reminds you each time you open it until then.

Delete from a web browser

You do not need the app installed. Sign in at zicarium.app with the same Google account you use in the app, then follow the steps above.

Changed your mind?

Any time before the date, open Settings → Account and choose Cancel deletion, or tap Cancel deletion on the reminder. Nothing is deleted and your account carries on as before.

Ask us to delete it

If you cannot sign in, email contact@datacea.com from your account's email address with the subject “Delete my Zicarium account”. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours before deleting anything.

What is deleted

When the 30 days are up, we delete:

  • Every universe, space, folder, and item you own (notes, to-dos, and all other record types), including their edit history.
  • Photos, files, and attachments stored on our servers.
  • Face groupings and other information derived from your records.
  • Assistant conversations and assistant job history.
  • Settings and preferences stored with your account.
  • Your account, your sign-in identity, and its link to your Google account. Your Google account itself is not affected.

Each device that was signed in to the account erases the Zicarium data it holds the next time it opens online after the deletion.

Shared spaces

  • Spaces you share with others. Before you can schedule deletion, make another member the owner of each space you share, or delete the space. The app lists them for you. This keeps the people you share with from losing their records without warning.
  • Spaces others share with you. You stop being a member. What you added to those spaces belongs to the space's owner, so it stays there, shown as added by "a former member".

What is kept, and for how long

  • Backups. Our backups are encrypted and expire on a rolling schedule. Deleted data is gone from all backups within 60 days of the deletion. Backups exist for disaster recovery.
  • Devices you no longer use. A device erases its copy when it next opens online. If you will never open Zicarium on a device again, uninstall the app or clear its storage there.
  • Your own copies. Files you exported, and requests you sent to an AI provider using your own API key, are outside our systems.
  • Legal and security records. Limited records may be kept where the law requires it or where they are needed for security and abuse prevention, as described in the Privacy Policy.

In short: your account is deleted 30 days after you ask, and every copy on our systems is gone within 60 days after that.

If you never signed in

Without an account, your records exist only on your device and we hold nothing to delete. To erase them, choose Settings → Account → Delete all data on this device, which takes effect immediately, or uninstall the app.

Before you delete

If you want a copy of your records, use Settings → Export/Import before the deletion date.

This page explains how deletion works in Zicarium. The Privacy Policy on datacea.com is the canonical description of how Datacea handles personal data.
